Course description

INTRODUCTION

The International Conference on Aviation Security and Threat Prevention Strategies is a high-level event designed to bring together aviation regulators, security agencies, airlines, airport authorities, and global stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, innovation, and strategic readiness in civil aviation security.

This conference will address contemporary and emerging threats—ranging from terrorism and insider threats to cybersecurity vulnerabilities and unmanned aerial systems (drones). Participants will engage in focused discussions on international best practices, regulatory frameworks (including ICAO Annex 17 and ICAO Global Aviation Security Plan), and real-time risk mitigation strategies that enhance the safety of passengers, crew, and aviation infrastructure.

The conference will also spotlight pressing topics such as countering the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) near airports, cybersecurity in aviation infrastructure, and the ethical dimensions of airport screening and surveillance. Participants will benefit from hands-on workshops, scenario-based simulations, and presentations of real-world case studies from global aviation hubs.

By the end of this conference, participants will be able to:

·      identify and assess current and emerging threats in civil aviation security;

·      apply international aviation security regulations and compliance frameworks;

·      develop and implement effective airport and airline security programs;

·      coordinate inter-agency response strategies to prevent and manage aviation security incidents;

·      incorporate technological solutions such as biometrics, AI, and surveillance systems into aviation security operations;

·      strengthen cybersecurity resilience for aviation infrastructure and data systems;

·      evaluate legal and ethical considerations in aviation screening and surveillance; and

·      understand the role of risk-based security models and intelligence sharing in prevention.
