INTRODUCTION
The Strategic Procurement Planning and Implementation Workshop is a high-level professional capacity building program designed to strengthen institutional procurement performance through effective planning, structured implementation, and proactive risk management.
Across public sector institutions, development organizations, and large private entities, procurement delays, cost overruns, and operational risks often arise from weak procurement planning, poor alignment with budgets and work plans, fragmented implementation processes, and limited coordination among stakeholders. Strategic procurement planning is therefore a critical function for ensuring value for money, timely delivery, and institutional accountability.
This workshop provides a structured and practical platform for procurement, finance, planning, and project professionals to develop the competencies required to design, implement, and manage strategic procurement plans that support organizational objectives. Emphasis is placed on end to end procurement planning, integration with budgeting and project cycles, risk identification and mitigation, and practical tools for improving procurement outcomes.
The program is delivered by the Canada Institute of Knowledge Development & Productivity (CIKDP) with institutional presence in Canada, the United States, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, and Nigeria, and reflects globally accepted practices in procurement governance, public financial management, and institutional productivity improvement.
